PLC Programmer

The candidate must be able to work in a professional engineering, team environment. This Engineering team is responsible for the complete design and integration of control systems into customer applications and processes. This includes PLC and HMI programming, network design, system commissioning, system support, external and internal training, technical consultation, etc. Engineers have the opportunity to learn new skills and to work in a very rewarding and fast paced environment that varies from customer to customer.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


The following lists are general responsibilities that may vary from customer to customer:

  • Proficient with software systems for multiple PLC platforms: · Rockwell - ControlLogix, SLC, Compact Logix, RSLinx, etc. · Siemens - S7, TIA Portal, 1200, 1500, etc. · Pilz S300x series · Etc. · Fieldbus and network, setup and troubleshooting. · Ethernet IP · Safety Bus design and configuration · DeviceNet design and configuration · ControlNet · Profibus design and configuration · Profinet design and configuration · Network couplers configuration · Ethernet troubleshooting and design of various hardware types and configurations
  • Network management and segmenting · IP addressing · OSI model layers · Network Masks· HMI interface programming and development · RSView · Panelbuilder · Inview · WinCC · integraDesignerPro · Programming Language Skills · Visual Basic · C # · C ++ · Delphi · Python · Java · XML/HTML
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct
  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environment compliance
  • Hold team members accountable for health, safety and environmental compliance as part of the annual performance review process.
  • Ensure that the requirements of the health, safety and environment management system are implemented and maintained.
  • Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of employees

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:
    Minimum - Associate degree in related controls fields.
  • Experience:
    Minimum of 5 year experience in an industrial environment troubleshooting, programming and startup of controls equipment desired.
