Wolfgang Glaser

An interview with the Training Manager

Mr. Glaser, what brought you to EBZ?

I always wanted to have a job where I could teach other people something and, following my apprenticeship, I qualified as a work education instructor and, simultaneously, completed my master craftsman certificate. I was made a trainer in this context, back then still at Nothelfer. From a technical and, indeed, educational point of view, I consider the combination of master craftsman and educator to be perfect for the pursuit of my profession.

What do you find most appealing about EBZ?

As a training company, I find EBZ excellent, as our modern and very well-equipped training center and a competent training team have every resource necessary to give our apprentices and students the best possible start for their future careers. I think EBZ is great as an employer, as we get on like a big family, and our bosses are really down to earth and relate to everyone on the same level.

Dos and don’ts: What would you advise young people to do who are still unsure about the choice of a vocational training occupation?

Given the variety of careers available, it’s not easy to make the right decision, a decision with which one can earn money later. This is why we offer internships during vacations, for example, to ensure that wrong decisions are not made. We place our trainees in the technical departments where they would also be employed as skilled workers, and in the training center where they can familiarize themselves with the available training options. This gives our trainees an excellent insight into a variety of professions that can be learnt in our company.

Insider tip: How can one convince you in an interview?

The first impression really counts! A neat application, and an open and honest demeanor.
