Steffen Nusser

Mechatronics Instructor, in a personal interview

Mr. Nusser, what brought you to EBZ?

A classmate from Tettnang brought my attention back then to a vacancy as a sub-project manager. So I applied, and next thing I knew I was here.

What do you find most appealing about EBZ?

  • Exciting and varied tasks which never let you get bored.
  • A great employer that is continually developing.
  • Anyone who wants to participate and is motivated can achieve a lot.
  • A sense of togetherness with flat organizations.
  • My colleagues are very nice, and the working atmosphere is really good.
  • It’s a stable employer, thanks to the enormous variety of products.

What do you find particularly important in your daily relations with our apprentices?

  • Discipline
  • To never stop enjoying what you do
  • Independence
  • A sound instinct for what is really important
  • Being always ready to listen if there are questions
  • Team spirit and maintaining an appreciation of things as a whole are as important as promoting technical know-how

Insider tip: What was the most important learning experience for you during your training?

Vocational training is just like life in general – not everything works out the way it was planned. It’s important to stay calm then, stay focused, look for possible mistakes and to persevere until you have achieved your goal. And, finally, it’s very important to enjoy the ultimate success and, indeed, celebrate it!

Do you mind if we ask you about your personal interests?

I seem to always spend my leisure time involved in some construction project or other. I always try to save the last cent on electricity and heating costs, much to the chagrin of my dear wife J. Anyone who thinks I’m great at housework should really think again!
