The EBZ Group started out as Mechanischen Werkstätte Anton Nothelfer & Söhne, established in Ravensburg in 1921. The “mechanical workshop” merged with Thyssen Reinstahl AG in 1974. Today's chairmen of the Executive Board, Thomas Bausch and Rainer Lotze, founded the construction engineering office Bausch & Lotze GmbH in 1993. Their company fused with Ziege & Wolf Konstruktionen in 1995 to become EBZ Engineering Bausch & Ziege GmbH.
In 2008, the EBZ Group took over the Ravensburg plant from ThyssenKrupp Drauz Nothelfer and united their company's locations at today's headquarters in Ravensburg.
