Mechatronics (THU Ulm)

Studies are based on the Ulm model and combine industrial mechanic vocational training with university studies in mechatronics. This means you attain two qualifications in parallel, giving you the best of skills for your later career. You will obtain a deep understanding of robotics and control technology and learn to plan and realize automation concepts for manufacturing plants in the automotive industry. The combination with the production engineering fundamentals from your vocational training provides the basis for launching your career in project management.

Training and educational content at EBZ:

  • The fundamentals of machine and manual metalworking: Turning, milling, grinding, sawing, drilling, reaming, filing, thread cutting, cutting and forming
  • Fundamentals of pneumatics, PLC technology and robot programming
  • Planning of production systems from the point of view of automation
  • Simulation of production processes in the context of virtual commissioning
  • Installation and commissioning of production systems in EBZ and on site at the customer’s facility
  • Support of our project teams, taking scheduling, costs and quality into consideration
  • Preparation of practical dissertations and the bachelor thesis in the product area
